CVPA Announces Our New Partnership with Chef Joseph Trama and Trama Catering

Welcome Chef Joe and Event Planners Christine & Tami

For the past 21 years, Certified Executive Chef Joseph J. Trama has stamped his unique signature on the culinary fare served at the Center for Visual and Performing Arts in Munster. As of August 1, 2010, Trama will take his expertise to the next level by providing full catering services for the Center's receptions, meetings and events.

Event Planners, Christine Carbonare and Tami Poortenga, have also joined our team and together with Chef Joe will work one-on-one with brides, businesses and individuals organizing parties that exceed the expectations of our guests. Trama Catering brings a strong focus on customer service and creativity to make events memorable, reflecting the unique style and personality of our clients.

As an adjunct professor of Culinary Arts at Ivy Tech Community College, Chef Joe is also planning to give Ivy Tech culinary students life experiences by offering internships and on-the-job training at the Center.

Chef Joe is known around the region for his many accomplishments in the world of fine cuisine. Readers of both the Times and Post-Tribune have repeatedly voted the Center’s Sunday Brunch #1 in their annual poll. In 2002, he hosted the American Culinary Federation’s Chicago Chefs of Cuisine event. He earned bronze medals in the Sandcreek Country Club Ice Centerpiece contest and the McCormick Place Poultry category. In 2004, he was among only four finalists (out of 41) in the Pasta Labella Recipe Challenge to prepare his recipe during the ACF annual national convention in Orlando, Fla.
