Launched in winter 2001 in our ballroom of The Center for Visual and Performing Arts, audiences have been laughing and loving the Comedy Nights at the CVPA dinner and show series for more than a decade.

Featuring national headliners showcased in the spotlight using the traditional private table dinner theater concept, humor paired with comfortable dining remains a great way to drive away doldrums no matter what time of year.

Comedy Nights at the CVPA are usually hosted on Friday nights with a cash bar. Chef Joe Trama and his staff serve up a hearty and delicious plated multi-course meal with a decadent dessert and coffee finale just as the lights begin to dim to welcome the start of the show. All of the shows are recommended for audiences 21 and older.

Top national comedy talents like Bil Dwyer, Sonya White, Larry Reeb, Shelia Kay, John Knight, Jim Flannigan, Connie Ettinger, Ross Bennett, Frank Del Pizzo, Jack Mayberry, Tiffany Ellen, Dwight Slade, David Landau, Jimmy McHugh, Jeffrey Jena and John Caponera are among just a few of the roster of riotously funny names to headline Comedy Nights at the CVPA since 2011. 

Audiences know the comics highlighted from their national appearances in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Los Angeles, New York and television appearances on everything from sitcoms and cable specials on Comedy Network, HBO and Showtime to talk show guest notoriety on “The Tonight Show,” “Late Night with David Letterman,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “The Conan O’Brien Show.”
