The Center for Visual and Performing Arts is a multi-purpose facility built by Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana, Inc. to support the cultural and educational needs of the region. The 72,660-square-foot facility, which opened in 1989, provides services for meetings, seminars, banquets, weddings, dinners, theater and fine arts. An elegant dining room can accommodate up to 500 guests or be divided for smaller parties. Other unique space options are available, including smaller rooms to accommodate private parties and business meetings.

The award-winning Theatre at the Center presents professional theater year-round from Broadway's brightest musicals and plays to Chicago-area premieres. Theatre at the Center’s intimate 416-seat theater is one of the most popular entertainment destinations in the Midwest.

South Shore Arts has been improving the quality of life along the South Shore for over 70 years. South Shore Arts offers over 400 classes each year in all media for all ages and presents more than 20 exhibitions each year, showcasing regional, national and international artists and cultures. The South Shore Arts Gift Shop is the largest national retailer of South Shore Posters.

Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra is the region's own premier classical music organization. Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra features a full season of classical and pops concerts and sponsors a youth orchestra and a chorus that is more than 100 members strong.

From varied, unique and delicious menus for weddings – both intimate and grand – along with a team of experienced wedding planners to guide the process, to providing meeting and conference space, catered showers, parties and funeral luncheons, Trama Catering holds the distinction as the exclusive caterer for the Center for Visual and Performing Arts, which opened in 1989.
